Most business teams don’t want a single activity — they want a day that’s easy to run, inclusive for mixed fitness levels, and genuinely enjoyable. That’s exactly how we build our team events.
Choose a half day for a focused session, or a full day for a steadier pace and more variety. If you’re “not sure yet”, tell us your numbers and timings and we’ll recommend the best format.

Recommended team-building options
These are common formats that work well for business teams. They’re examples — not fixed packages. We’ll plan your day around your numbers, time available, confidence levels and what you want the event to achieve.
Half day options
Ideal for shorter days, travel days, or adding a structured activity around a meeting or conference. Half days work best as one clear plan — with a sensible pace for mixed teams.
Social & Competitive Half Day
Activities: Mini Highland Games + BattleZone
Typical group size: 10–60+
Location: On site (Grantown-on-Spey)
A high-engagement half day with the best of both worlds: clan-based games with clear scoring, followed by structured BattleZone missions. Formats and roles are adapted so mixed fitness levels can take part confidently.
Works well for: inclusive socials, mixed departments, larger groups.
Adventure Option
Choose 1: Canoeing or Gorge Walking
Typical group size: 10–24 (adventure ratios apply)
Location: Off site (short drive)
For teams who want a signature Cairngorms experience. We’ll advise on which option suits your group based on confidence, conditions and the experience you want on the day.
Works well for: confident teams, summer visits, “do something memorable” sessions.
Land-Based Mix & Match
Format: Choose 2 land-based activities
Typical group size: 10–80
Location: On site (Grantown-on-Spey)
A flexible half day that keeps things inclusive and well-paced. We’ll recommend the best pairing based on your group, and run it as two clear blocks so it feels structured, not rushed.
Common choices include: Archery, Team Challenge, Footgolf/Disc Golf, Mini Highland Games, BattleZone.
Working with limited time?
Half-day adventures work best when they’re planned tightly. If you’re fitting something around travel, meetings or other commitments, we’ll help shape a half-day plan that’s realistic, well-paced and worth the effort.

Full day options
Full days are ideal when you want a steadier pace and a bigger shared experience. Adventure activities (gorge or canoeing) typically take half a day, while land-based options can allow more variety across the day (often 3–4 activities).
Teamwork & Collaboration Day
Activities: Team Challenge + BattleZone + Raft Building
Typical group size: 10–60+
Location: Mainly on site (Grantown-on-Spey)
A high-performing day for mixed teams: structured problem-solving, shared objectives and practical teamwork — with enough competitive energy to keep it fun and engaging.
Works well for: staff teams, collaboration goals, cross-department groups.
Scottish Adventure Day
Choose 1: Canoeing or Gorge Walking
Plus: Mini Highland Games
Location: Adventure off site + Games on site
A Cairngorms “signature” combination: a half-day adventure session, followed by a social, competitive Highland Games format. Great for teams who want something distinctly Scottish.
Works well for: visiting teams, summer socials, memorable away days.
Land-Based Mix & Match Day
Format: Choose 4 land-based activities across the day
Location: On site (Grantown-on-Spey)
The most flexible full-day option. We’ll recommend a sensible flow and pacing based on your group, so it stays inclusive and enjoyable from start to finish.
Common choices include: Archery, Team Challenge, Footgolf/Disc Golf, BattleZone, Mini Highland Games.

How planning works
A simple process, with a clear plan on the day. We’ll handle structure, timings and delivery — you just bring the team.
1) Tell us the basics
Numbers, dates, timings and any needs (mixed fitness, accessibility, confidence levels, objectives).
2) We recommend a format
We’ll suggest the best half-day or full-day structure and a sensible flow for pacing, breaks and energy.
3) Turn up and enjoy it
Instructors lead the sessions, keep things moving, and adapt on the day if conditions change.
Catering and breaks
If you’d like catering included, we can plan this into the day so the schedule stays smooth. Options may include tea/coffee breaks, buffet lunches or BBQ-style food depending on your timings and setup.
Prefer to keep it simple? We’ll build the day around your own arrangements and a clear break window.
Team building FAQs
Clear answers to the questions organisers ask most often.
Are activities suitable for mixed fitness levels?
Yes. Most business teams are mixed fitness and mixed confidence. We structure sessions so everyone can take part positively, and we can build in lower-impact roles where needed.
How many activities fit into a day?
Half days usually work best as one clear plan (either a combined session or one main activity). Full days commonly include two activities, but land-based days can often include three or four at a sensible pace. Canoeing or gorge walking typically takes half a day.
What happens if the weather is poor?
We plan with weather in mind. Many activities run well in typical Scottish conditions. If conditions make something unsuitable, we’ll adapt the structure or swap to a better-fit alternative.
Do you provide catering?
Catering can be added so breaks and lunch fit smoothly into the schedule. Options may include tea/coffee breaks, buffet lunches or BBQ-style food depending on your plan. We’ll confirm what’s best during planning.
Do you offer invoicing?
Yes. We can support business-friendly admin including invoices and clear schedule confirmation so it’s easy to organise internally.
What group sizes can you accommodate?
We regularly work with groups from around 10 to 40+ and can often run larger groups using splits and rotations. Tell us your numbers and we’ll recommend the best structure.
Can you tailor the day to objectives?
Yes. If you want to focus on communication, collaboration, leadership, morale or simply a shared fun day, we’ll recommend the right format and run it with clear structure.
What do participants need to bring?
We’ll send a kit list once confirmed. As a guide: outdoor clothing, suitable footwear and spare layers for changeable weather. For adventure options (canoe/gorge), we’ll advise on specific kit.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Grantown-on-Spey. Many land-based activities run on site. Canoeing and gorge walking are typically a short drive away.
Can you help with accommodation and logistics?
Yes. If you’re planning a multi-day trip, we can help advise on logistics and accommodation planning. Specialist bespoke events (fundraising, film, expedition-style days) are handled via our separate bespoke page.
